And then you need to drill a hole through the door so the lock mechanism bar has a space to slide through...A little work... but it does work! Whew! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Adding a lock...saving the cost of a locksmith *by P***G on March 20, 2015* For a long time I searched on how to add a lock to several sliding glass doors we had added to the house. There aren't a lot of details on which locks fit which doors but I was convinced by other reviews this would fit the Pela doors we added. The instructions were clear and they installed easily. Once I had the plug out it was about 5 -7 minutes before I was throwing away the packing and testing the keys. The only real thing to be concerned about, except for shape of course, is the depth of the metal part that runs the lock. The are scores along the metal piece that make adjustments easy.
