I don't know why that's standard. Not exclusively a DR thing. If the 11 is a 12, then the E and B are equal tension and the G is a slight bump up, which is kind of how guitar sounds and feels right. DR uses a 44 for the A for some reason. This makes it 30 lbs tension while the low E is only 23. So I can't work with this brand even though they make a wide array of excellent strings. I'd probably like a custom Veritas set and sometimes use the Dimebags or Hi-Beams. Review: Amazing - Been through 5 packs of these now, easily the best set of strings I've ever used. I rip on the whammy constantly, never broke a string. The string life is amazing as well, been on my previous set for like 5 months, and they still sound almost brand new.
