I'm using the TV with an antenna only, but Vizio's remote has the volume buttons hidden on the side and the channel buttons are unlabeled. After installing batteries this remote worked right out of the box, no programming needed! The battery compartment is a bit tricky to access and the "pictorial" directions provided are a little vague. You pull on the lanyard which releases the compartment latch.
