**Q: What is the size of the actual plate itself?**
A: My flue stop measures 9 1/2 inches diameter. Susan

**Q: The hole I need to cover is approx. 4 1/2".  Will this work?**
A: The hole I covered was 6" inside diameter. There is a metal piece that bends to fit hole so I would say yes it would fit, although the diameter of actual cover is 9 3/4".  For us it covers and old stove pipe no longer used and this looks so much better.

**Q: Would this fit an 8 inch hole in a chimney flue?**
A: per product info"Adjusts to fit 6'', 7'', and 8'' flue wall openings. Has adjustable spring for snug fit. Available in 24 gauge black matte or wood grain finish.

**Q: Can this be used in a square opening? 8x8**
A: It is designed for a round stove pipe opening.    It will not cover your hole.
