The wooden rods are easy to trim to size and push into the spheres to allow the basic model to be constructed and students can paint and/or decorate them as they wish, using the water based paints (supplied). A template for Saturns ring is supplied for students to cut out, decorate and fit, as required. Thank you in advance.** A: The model which is photographed uses three of the wooden sticks which have been shortened and inserted so that the 'sun' balances on them. Once the other planets have been arranged around the 'sun' and a balance has been achieved the model is quite stable. **Q: does the paint come out marble effect as per images?** A: Hello Thank you for your question.
