It easily breaks down but feels sturdy when it's erected. The plastic used seems close to an old milk crate. Easy to break down when not needed. I use it in the back of the car to put groceries in that either don't fit my shopping bags or to consolidate a couple of bags of groceries. They are sturdy but, I was thinking I would put 6 gallons of milk jugs into them full of water, but they may not be sturdy enough to hold up to that kind of weight over the long run.
