Keeping them in shade as suggested I think made a real difference in their recovery from shipping. I've heard how fragile lithops can be and wasn't overly optimistic as a first timer that I would be able to keep them alive. So far I've only had one die and I think it was because I over watered it as I'm used to veggies and flowers and my instincts are to water more often. But I took that as a lesson and the rest are thriving in the little terrarium I set up for them. These are a very unique plant in that you have to keep an eye on them without actually doing much. They sit on my desk so I can watch for signs of distress but honestly I don't have to do much, just water them once and a while and keep them under a light which is on a 16 hour timer so I literally can leave them alone for days at a time. But they're very fun to look at. (They included that little lady bug in the packaging, it was so cute I kept it for the terrarium!)
