**Q: Can you advise if the radiometer has an internal vacuum to aid the spin of the fins.**
A: It is a permanent vacuum

**Q: Is the base permanently attached as I want to include one as part of a steampunk clock?**
A: No it is removable.  It is a wooden base with a push fit on the glass top.  However, it will not fall off and you could glue it on.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the actual globe?**
A: 3 inches (77mn) in diameter

Although it was more expensive, at least I’ve got a product in hundred percent condition. Works very well and it’s quite amazing to see it spinning as the light gets stronger. Even if you shine a torch close to it it’s still moves. Very clever product.

I bought this unit about 1 year ago. From day 1 it never really worked properly and always needed a tap to start it spinning. Six months on it does not work at all even in the most strongest sun light. I contacted Kikkerland who were not at all interested in helping me. I advise anyone not to buy this, or if you do, it won't last due probably to poor construction.
