## Description

Find the answers you’ve been looking for in the explosive third season of the show critics call "the most gorgeous, audacious, expansive series on network TV." As the power of the island to both heal and destroy comes into sharp focus, the lines between good and evil are blurred and loyalties are challenged when the survivors of the crash become tangled within the lives of the Others. Plan your escape, and immerse yourself in all 23 episodes of Season Three. Go deeper than ever before in this seven-disc DVD box set, complete with hours of never-before-seen bonus features, including secrets from the world of the Others, behind-the-scenes featurettes, unprecedented access to the Lost writers room, and so much more. There’s a steady pattern forming to seasons of Lost , where the narrative by turns manages to enthral and frustrate with equal measure. And the show’s makers are clearly wise to this, as while elements of the third season revert to type, there’s a clear and genuine effort to energise a programme that continues to stretch its simple premise as far as it can. So while Lost still compromises of a group of plane crash survivors marooned on a mysterious island, there’s plenty else being thrown into the pot. Season three finds new characters, greater exposition of the mysterious ‘others’, the obligatory background character work, and a pronounced fracturing of relations between many of the survivors. It too also manages to hint at some answers to the many conundrums that it continues to pose, not least a concluding episode that itself should keep fan debates fuelled until well into the next series. And, chief among its accomplishments, Lost still manages to keep us interested, and leaves plenty in the tank for the future as well. In short, there’s little danger you’ll be short-changed by Lost season three thanks to its ideas, its nerve, and the continued clues it teasingly leaves along the way. As fascinating as it always was. -- Jon Foster

Review: I'm no longer lost without lost - as a virgin media customer I was deprived of most of this season, and it's been a long wait to see the remaining episodes. So here they are at last. Annoying that we didn't get a half season box set like before, but you know what? They were worth the wait. This is the third season in the ongoing drama with fantasy elements about a group of survivors of a plane crash who are marooned on a very strange island, and who come into conflict with the strange people who live there. if you've not seen it before then start with season one and work your way through. It's not too hard to get into, but it works better if you watch it in order. Be advised that this is one big ongoing story, so it rewards viewers with patience. There are twenty three episodes to this season, spread over six discs. There's no direct scene access but there are a few set up options. The season starts a bit slowly, because it begins with the castaways split into several groups, and focuses on one of them more than the others. As a result of this some characters do go few a few epiodes without being seen [jin is only in one of the first nine]. but persevere. And if you weren't good at doing that, I doubt you'd have gotten this far with the show! After episode nine, things really do start to grip. There's a real sense of forward momentum to the show, and a few answers can be found. even though some do set up equally intriguing mysteries. Everything ends on a big cliffhanger that will make you eager to find what happens in season four. The extras disc is frustrating at first because the menu is meant to be a screen of monitors, and only some of them lead to anything. And when they do you then have to click on other places to get the extras to appear. There are lots of little easter eggs dotted around this disc, which I found by playing it on a laptop and moving the pointer over the screen. so experiment with your dvd remote. All are little production featurettes and trivia and worth watching. one is the dharma film that you see in one episode being used to brainwash someone. it's two minutes long and a very trippy experience The extras that are easier to get into: A documentary about the enemies of the castaways. runs about twenty minutes and doesn't offer much in the way of answers, but does clarify the fate of one character and offer a hint about season four. Worth watching, though Crew tribute with evangeline lilly. a short feature with the actress who plays kate meeting the unsung members of the film crew. worth watching, as it's quite interesting to see all the minor roles you wouldn't normally think about Flashbacks: three deleted flashback scenes. one involving locke is very short. one involving jin is even shorter. but both are interesting. the third, from the episode expose, does add some good character depth and should be watched. Ten deleted scenes from various episodes. all quite short. only a couple contain major information. but they're all worth a look The lost book club. a short feature showing the literary influences on the show. very interesting viewing. runs about ten minutes lost in a day. a fascinating twenty five minute long feature showing an average day in the filming of the show, and what all the production departments are doing at the time. excellent, interesting, and really good next level, inside the video game: a ten minute feature about the impending lost video game. intriguing and interesting cast in clay: a short look at how the lost action figures were made. Bloopers: the outtakes reel. Aside from one funny bit of overplaying dialogue in a sayid locke scene nothing really stands out from this one. with bloopers if you've seen one you've seen them all Terry o'quinn throwing from the handle: the actor who plays locke shows you how to throw a knife. interesting, but don't try it at home! There are also four commentaries, on the episodes a tale of two cities, I do [featuring stars evangeline lilly and josh holloway] expose [well worth listening to as does give interesting information about the episode] and the man behind the curtain. A very good package for a great show
Review: Absolutely stunning - Is "Lost" the best TV series ever written? That may or may not be the case, but speaking as a rather cynical viewer whose attention span when it comes to TV is notoriously short, I'd say it should be ranked right up there in the top five. Lost (I won't keep using the inverted commas) is a truly unique show for a variety of reasons. Most TV, let's face it, is instantly forgettable. You see it and as soon as it disappears from our screens we forget it. Not so with Lost. I can truly say that as I was watching the final few episodes that my stomach was clenching and tightening and there were more than a few tears in my eyes. This is TV at it's absolute best; it makes you feel for the characters and at times it feels as though you're living amongst them. What would you do if you were in their shoes? I can't recommend this DVD highly enough and although I don't wish to repeat myself I'm not your average TV fan; you can count on one hand the number of shows I watch from beginning to end during the course of an average week but this series is something amazing. Buy it or miss out on something incredible. You won't be disappointed.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good season
*by S***S on 2 March 2009*

Season 3 of Lost starts as a lot of other people have described, with the focus firmly on the three who were caught by the Others at the end of season 2. A lot of people have critcised these episodes as being very slow, and you do not find out much about the aftermath of the hatch implosion and the other Losties on the beach. However, i found if you take them for what they are, it is a very good look into the lives of the Others, and starts to set things up for later in the season. I must say that it does help to watch these episodes on dvd, one after another, as you can then quickly get to the bulk of the action quite quickly. About half way through, the season seems to find its feet, and then it never slows down, with revelations flying at you left, right and centre. It reaches a consistent quality in the second half, that is higher than any seen before. There are several outstanding episodes, including "The Man from Talahassee", "One of Us", "The Brig", "Man behind the Iron Curtain", and the stunning two part finale "Through the Looking Glass". The acting is all very good, and particular mention must go to Michael Emerson for his portrayal of Benjamin Linus. He is the most fascinating character in the show for me, and all the more so for Michael's performance. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend Season 3 of Lost. It is compulsive viewing, and means I am now avidly watching the Season 4 DVD.
