The pattern on the legs was so cute and paired well with the cozy nature of the dirndl while giving it a slightly flirty and fun pizzazz.They actually did reach all the way above the knee to my thigh (I have long legs, so this is sometimes challenge), and the crocheted accent at the top of the socks kept them comfortably pulled up -- when I got home, I was shocked to realize that I did not have to adjust them even once all day.They are very comfy -- warm and stretchy -- so I can see myself wearing them under tall boots as well. Mine arrived with the seam above the toes unraveling to have a hole in one of the stockings. That said, if the next pair is solidly constructed, I am so excited! I am only 5'3” tall and heavyset/curvy. My calves are about 19.5 inches around. Most teenybop socks do not fit me or are very snug. My feet are an 8.5 wide with high arches. The foot part was plenty roomy, and so was the rest! Maybe because I am short, the knit could stretch wide? With mid-thigh or short jammies shorts, these will be so CUTE! If you have thin or no calves, these will slouch.
