## Description

From the manufacturer About Us Gaugemaster Controls and the Engine Shed were formed in 1975 and 1974 respectively as two separate businesses, The Engine Shed - a local model shop in Bognor Regis, and Gaugemaster - an electronic sub assembly business in Worthing. In 1977 the first Gaugemaster Controller was produced, there being a demand for modern electronic controllers for the adult modeller which at that time was not being catered for. Between 1977 and 1982 both businesses became established, and after working together for a period, were joined together in the spring of 1982. During the early 1980s a Mail Order department was started in addition to the shop, and then in 1984 a second shop was purchased in Worthing.

Review: Just Excellent - and good value. - I love these - they're just so positive when switching. A bit more complicated to fit than surface side-mounted motors but the effort is well worth it because they are invisible and perform so much better. They work just as well with Hornby or Peco points (especially important with the latter because they have stronger spring latches). In the manual they suggest cutting a slot to incorporate the moving rod - far easier to just drill a hole (6-8mm). Once the point is installed the hole can hardly be seen. Good value too.
Review: Cheap and reliable - I’ve around 22 points on my layout so I went for these motors and used the gaugemaster frog juices for frog polarity which work better than the seep motor with polarity switch built in,powered by 2 DCCconcepts 8 output decoder’s with built in CDU for each output 👍🏻Works a treat

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Effective, but fiddly and lacking installation screws
*by W***P on 18 February 2024*

Seep point motors have been around for decades, for the simple reason that they work very effectively - once you've gone through the hassle of installation. Do remember that these prefer a beefy 16 volt, 2 amp supply to throw properly. Lower voltages simply won't work on a point with typical centre-springing. Little has been done to improve the product over the years, other than changed packaging. No screw terminals, so soldering to slim metal pads is required. No installtion screws are provided and no indication is given about what sizes and screw head type(s) are recommended. There's also no real guidance as to how best to install the motors. It's all a bit 1960s. If you haven't installed one before, check out YouTube where there are several helpful videos. These are good, cost-effective point motors, but you do need patience, the right tools and some skill to get them installed and working correctly.
