This masculine design is a variation of one of the most popular style of gents ring in the world, design # 52 with the added streamlined engraving. These grooves are cut in brightly by hand in a parallel design that enhances the entire surface. A great design for wearing a solitary gem. The gem is an untreated Star Ruby with no leaded glass filler, no heat, 4.61 carat, 9.2 x 7.4 x 5.9 mm oval cabochon. This star is natural rather than diffused, complete with six rays, is medium in brightness, is well centered and is medium in sharpness. This gem is opaque, is heavily included, and has surface flaws yet the star overwhelms the look. It was mined in Africa. Fast fact: Most African Ruby is repaired by filling voids with a leaded glass.
