In order to create the leak-free lids for these bottles, we made some modifications to a mold of an existing bottle that was being used for other purposes. The mold for these 20 oz. bottles was based off of the mold from the previous bottle and we forgot to change the specifications on bottom from the previous mold to the current 20 oz. bottle specifications (HDPE, recycling code #2). The bottles are made out of HDPE plastic and are safe for food storage.
