Review: High and mighty - I was very pleased with this grab rail as it's nice and slim but also quite high which is useful in terms of my husband now being able to raise himself up from a lying down position when in bed in the morning. He was provided with a much lower one from the hospital after he'd fractured his hip but as it's not very high he has to stoop too much to get into bed & it's too low as an aid for when he wants to get out of bed. This one is ideal. Also as we have a king size bed with a very thick and heavy mattress we didn't need to strap it onto the bed base itself as he's only using this as an aid to help him reach or depart from his zimmer frame so we find that because the rail has quite a wide base it doesn't move at all beneath the mattress & feels very safe using it . This is useful when making the bed etc as I can pull it out and then push it back in again afterwards.
