A: Hi Michel! The puzzle has 24 extra-thick cardboard pieces!

**Q: what does the back of the pieces look like? are they brown cardboard?**
A: I don’t have the puzzle with me it’s with my grandson

**Q: is there anything special about the box, or could the box be discarded and the pieces packed in a baggie in a suitcase?**
A: The pieces can be packed. I would cut the picture off of the box though so the child can see the picture.

A: Made in China.  BUT, the box also says "All Melissa and Doug products are carefully crafted using non-toxic coatings and meet or exceed all US toy testing standards"

All of my kids are willing to help put it together with their little brother. The big pieces are great for little hands.
