A: It all depends on the mounting of the switch,  the switch makes contact at wires if horizontal all you would need is about 10 degrees  if mount vertical you would need a full turn....  It all depends on the mounting.

**Q: What is the dimension of the switch housing?**
A: length 1.5", width 3/8", height 3/8"

**Q: From horizontal (open) at what angle does it close?**
A: As for the angle the switch is a simple mercury switch. A little over half way the mercury shifts and complete circuit.

**Q: Does the connectivity affected by temperature change?**
A: I have been using this outside with temperatures ranging from below zero to 90 degrees and it has been working fine.
