The mobile app allowed me to gain fine control of the print settings when I needed it. It also allowed me to draw in materials other than those pre-programmed in the pen.The wood burning tool takes a few minutes to heat to full temp but is fantastic once it gets there.Modelling in foam is easy with the 3D Simo as this heats within a few seconds.The only slight criticism I'd have would be that the USB cable could be longer, but I have managed easily with an extension socket.All in all, a brilliant modelling tool! ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn’t work *by K***B on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 May 2019* I brought this second hand as I could not afford the full priced one, and the description mentioned that the only problem was some small dents at the front so I thought it would be fine. It was not. The tool to extract filament was missing - and there’s was some plastic filament jammed in the 3D printings nozzle. On top of that- the pen did not actually work. I tried to heat it up for plastic and it was heating for an hour and then turned off without ever displaying “ready”. Then I tried the wood burning tip and attempted to preheat the tip as instructed by the guide, but nothing happened- the tip did not heat. Perhaps it is my faults for buying second hand, however the pen was in worse conditions than describe and I’ve now wasted around £60 ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Buy from 3D Primo! *by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 September 2018* First impressions, not the best build quality and I was slightly concerned it might have been used- when I first used it, some plastic came out of it. The seller, 3D Primo, was very responsive and courteous and put my concerns to ease explaining it was due to the product being tested. I would strongly recommend buying from 3D Primo, they went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied.After the initial concern though I had a lot of fun with this, it’s fun just writing or drawing and seeing the image in 3D even without intentionally making something 3D! The pen is good, heats up quickly, cools quickly, easy to switch the different heads. I’ve used it for about 10hrs and I haven’t had any jams. The nozzle is a bit wide which makes it a little tricky for fine details but that is itself just a small detail! You can get an app on iPhone which allows you to change certain settings like speed of flow which is a nice touch. All in all a good product. I’m just taking off one star because of the negative first impression given this is one of the more expensive 3D pens.
