The old battery had reached the end of its life, dropping quickly to 80%, not long to 50%, then powering off around 47%! I'm now back up to a few hours of use, but not had long enough to get a good average.Fitting was straightforward using the enclosed screwdrivers to get all the screws out of the Mac. The hardest part was getting the old Apple battery out of the device as it was well and truly stuck to the laptop case using double-sided pads. The best recommendation I can make:- remove the ribbon connector from the motherboard to disconnect the battery. I used a plastic top from a ball point pen to ease the connector up and off- remove a couple of screws at the top of the battery which fasten it to the motherboard- with the ribbon off, I then set to work on easing the battery from the case. DO NOT USE ANYTHING METAL OR SHARP. The last thing you want to do is pierce any of the battery cells. I used an old plastic picnic knife which I managed to ease under the battery, one cell at a time and using a gentle sawing action, cut through the double sided pads to break the join between battery and case.That's the hardest part - take a bit of time to avoid damage but it's only about 5-10 mins.The new battery goes in far easier than the old one comes out. Practice first without sticking it down. Put it in and line up the ribbon cable so you can see how it fits. Then take it out, remove the cover from the double-sided tape on the new battery, secure it to the case of the Mac, screw in the two motherboard screws, connect the ribbon cable and put the Mac back together.The use of a tool such as Coconut Battery gives reassuring info the new battery is charging, its capacity etc. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Lasted a year and started to die *by M***A on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 August 2019* Bought this battery in April 2018. Easy to install. After about 12 month I realised the battery wasnt holding its charge long enough. Two months later a full charge would only last 20 min. At that time the track pad also become faulty so I opened the computer to see what the problem was, only to realise the battery pack was swelling up and chocking the track pad form the inside.
