There are brighter lights, there are ones with more modes like different illumination levels, and ones with rechargeable batteries. And there are certainly cheaper lights. But, with this one I know it's always going to come on if I need it and it's always going to come on full power. And it uses cr123 batteries with 10 year shelf life so I know it will always have juice and don't have to worry about charging it. For a defensive carbine those things are key. The integrated mount lets you get the light right up next to the rail and stays locked solid.
