Perfect Finish is designed to be used with a rotary polisher. You can mix and match, and do whatever feels most comfortable. That being said, the Perfect Finish abrasives are a little "better" and need a little more heat to break down. That is why it is paired with a rotary, and also why it is a little more expensive. **Q: Should I use a soft pad or hard pad using Chemical guy pads?** A: Depends on if you’re doing 1 step or 2 and the color of the paint. If you’re trying to remove swirls and small scratches in black paint, I recommend using Sonax Cutmax first and then EX 04-06. I did Cutmax with orange Chemical Guys pad and EX 04-06 with white and it came out great. If you just want to do the EX, on black I’d recommend using an orange or green pad depending on how bad the defects are.
