It looks like it's going to be heavier, but it's surprisingly light weight, and still VERY sturdy. The joints are a little tight or stuff right out of the box, but I'm not looking to readjust it every 15 seconds. It works extremely well for me.Easily attaches to my desk and didn't leave any marks. Extends out just as far as my older spring-loaded arm, but folds up in a much more compact body. Fits the two standard microphone screw-set size, and total setup was just a couple of minutes.As I said, the initial stiffness of the joints is there, but I assume it will become easier with some use. It does swivel around the mounting point easily. My only wish is that the first arm would extend a little further down at the mount point. (in my photo, it is fully extended) of course, allowing it to go too far can change the weight/stress on the mount, so it may be more intentional to stop where it does.Strong all-metal build and could probably hold a dslr camera!
