Is it cooked or not please?** A: This ham needs to be soaked overnight, cooked in oven or pan. **Q: Do I need to boil this or put it in the oven?** A: This needs to be boiled. Firstly you need to soak it overnight and then drain off the water. Put it in a pot and bring it to the boil for a couple of minutes and then drain off the water again. Finally fill up the pot again and boil (about 40 mins per kilo). For the final boiling what I do is boil it in Coca Cola as it gives the ham a lovely, slightly sweet flavour. It was definitely worth the risk. It excelled my expectations and was cooked better than I would have done. What I wasn’t sure on was whether it was cooked or uncooked: I always buy it smoked but uncooked.
