I recall +&- from battery to solenoid module and two wires from the solenoid module to the winch motor. All switching in occurs in the solenoid module. Hope this helps. **Q: How long are the connecting cables ??** A: used it to divert a snowblower discharge chute, so used my own cables, threw the rest away. If you take the time to read the reviews you can see that they are said to be about 18" long - my memory is that they were longer. Many folks said they were too short (also in the review section). On the champion web site they list the cables as 4 ft long. Has everything you need, I tested remote at distances well beyond 50'. In short I highly recommend this product. Worked perfectly even with receiver tucked inside front compartment. I purchased this kit because I had to replace original rocker switch and wanted remote control but my setup did not have a relay. When you add up the cost of the components provided in this kit you cannot beat the price and Champion did not skimp on quality!My install: I was able to place all components in the small compartment under the black panel below the front rack on a 2004 660 Grizzly I liked this location because I did not need to drill any holes in any panel and it is out of the mud and rain. The down side was the relay would be further away from the battery and I thought the receiver/antenna would not work as well as opposed to being mounted in the open. I noticed no effect on either account. The relay worked fine, I tested the receiver out in the open and enclosed and noticed no difference at a distance of 80'Note: There is a very slight delay from when you release the remote button to when the winch stops. This not a problem unless you are like me and like to add a little tension to the cable when fully retracted for travel. I recommend using the handle bar switch instead, it is very responsive and you can add as much or as little tension as you like. Additionaly I loved being able to use the remote to retract cable and hold the cable when retracting long lengths of cable so you get a tighter wind on the spool :^) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Convenient to use. *by P***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2024* I use a Champion winch to load my sports car into an enclosed trailer. Walking alongside the car with one hand on the steering wheel and one hand on the remote makes it easy to see how to line up everything. I purchased to replace the faulty one that operated my winch. Install was pretty straightforward... however, I did need to find a location that would work (I have a Polaris 700, and the cable length from switch to relay was a bit "short" for where I "wanted" to install it). But once installed, it worked great! Cost was very reasonable- and, (a nice surprise) the relay has an "on/off" switch. If not in use, you can "cut power" to unit.
