Review: Great range - Awesome product, you won't regret purchasing, range is fantastic. Review: Much better than the 2500 and 3000 series - I had been using this to cover a gate for many years with the 2500 and 3000 series. The new 4000 series seems to work much better. People walking by will set off the alarm but I wanted it to detect vehicles waiting at the gate. With the old system it was a bit hit and miss but the newer system has not so far in 2 weeks failed to detect a vehicle waiting at the gate. One problem with this system is that it will work great with a car which is warm but often fails to pick up a car exiting which I put down to the car not warm. As is used to detect a vehicle arriving then the chances are it will not be a cold just started up vehicle this has worked OK for what I needed. If you would need it to be 100% on vehicle detection on warn or cold vehicles then it maybe better to go for the probe version or the rubber hose version. I could not use the probe as is too close to the road and next to a large metal gate. I did also buy the rubber hose version but have yet to try as this is so far doing the job and I still have not been able to straighten out the rubber hose which came coiled up. The new style pager receiver is almost twice the size of the old style but battery lasts much longer and is much more reliable receiving a signal. I have found it well worth the money and works much better than the older 2500/3000 series. ## Features - EASY INSTALLATION: Pair up to 16 sensors with one receiver or an unlimited number of receivers with one sensor. Simple code-learning technology allows for quick setup in minutes with the receiver playing one of 16 tunes when it receives a signal. - LONG WIRELESS RANGE: Enjoy a one-mile wireless range, the longest in its class. This makes it easier for the radio signal to reach the receiver. - PORTABLE RECEIVER: The PR-4000 receiver is lightweight, with both an audible and vibrate alert. It's rechargeable via USB Micro cable and can last 6-7 days between charges. There's also a time/date stamp for the last 200 activations on each of the 16 zones. - VERSATILE COMPATIBILITY: The MTPR-4000 is compatible with all Dakota Alert 4000 Series sensors and receivers, allowing you to mix and match to create the ideal system for your needs. - USA-BASED WITH EXPERIENCE: Dakota Alert is a South Dakota-based company with over 30 years of experience in the wireless driveway alarm industry. We ensure top quality with all of our products. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B09MJK2H9Y | | Alert Type | Motion Only | | Antenna Location | Residential Security, Commercial Security, Outdoor Monitoring, Wildlife Monitoring | | Battery Average Life | 168 Hours | | Battery Cell Type | Lithium Ion | | Brand | Dakota Alert | | Built-In Media | Detector | | Colour | Neutral | | Compatible Devices | PR-4000 | | Connectivity Technology | Infrared | | Control Method | Push Button | | Customer Reviews | 3.8 out of 5 stars 55 Reviews | | Installation Method | Self-Adhesive | | Item Dimensions | 20.3 x 15.2 x 7.6 Centimeters | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 20.3 x 15.2 x 7.6 Centimeters | | Manufacturer | Dakota Alert | | Maximum Range | 1 Miles | | Mfr Part Number | MTPR-4000 | | Model Number | MTPR-4000 | | Network Connectivity Technology | Infrared | | Power Source | Corded Electric | | UPC | 891179000942 | | Unit Count | 2 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Dakota Alert - **Colour:** Neutral - **Compatible Devices:** PR-4000 - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 20.3 x 15.2 x 7.6 Centimeters - **Power Source:** Corded Electric ## Images ![MTPR-4000 Perimeter Alarm System | Combines DCMT-4000 Motion Detection Transmitter & PR-4000 Portable Receiver | Wireless Driveway Alarm System for Homeowners, Business Owners & Hunters - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71zkWWxJraL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: What's the difference between this system and the dakota alert dcma-2500 driveway motion alert kit, which costs 3-1/2 times as much?** A: They no longer manufacture the 2500 which is why the price is so high. Go with the 4000 since you soon will not be able to buy components for the 2500. The 4000 receiver is smaller with the addition of a light and is a much better design. **Q: How long does the battery last?** A: Mine have been working for 16 months without being replaced. And they trigger probably 4 times a day minimum. **Q: On the dakota alert dcma-4000 wireless detector driveway alarm system can the transmitter send signal to two receivers at same time?** A: OFFERS AN EXPANDABLE ALARM SYSTEM - You can add up to 16 different transmitters to the DCR-4000 Receiver if you wish to monitor a larger perimeter. DCMA-4000 is not compatible with 2500 or 3000 series products. **Q: Can you power this with POE?** A: Sorry, Power Over Ethernet is not an option. The receiver is powered via a plug in transformer that goes from 110 VAC to 12 VDC. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great range *by T***Z on 2 December 2025* Awesome product, you won't regret purchasing, range is fantastic. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Much better than the 2500 and 3000 series *by G***6 on 8 December 2023* I had been using this to cover a gate for many years with the 2500 and 3000 series. I created a perimeter around my property and have always been alerted when something crosses the "beam", it has never failed to trigger the base station. I now have them mounted on every outbuilding door as well. Each unit can trigger a different sound or several can trigger the same sound. My perimeter units all trigger a bell, while my outbuilding alarms trigger a buzzer sound. Easy to setup, completely weather proof, reliable, and not expensive. Well worth the money. ## Frequently Bought Together - Long Range Motion Sensor System- Dakota Alert MTPR-4000 Wireless Motion Detector & Receiver, Camping Perimeter & Trip Wire Alarm Device, Monitor Driveways, Backyards, Entrances, Deer Trails and More - Dakota Alert UT-4000, Universal Transmitter for Wireless Home Security & Doorbell-1 Mile Long Range, Compatible with 4000 Series Receiver, Driveway Alarms Wireless, Mailbox Alert, Weatherproof Sensor --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pe/products/528239161-mtpr-4000-perimeter-alarm-system-combines-dcmt-4000-motion-detection](https://www.desertcart.pe/products/528239161-mtpr-4000-perimeter-alarm-system-combines-dcmt-4000-motion-detection) --- *Product available on Desertcart Peru* *Store origin: PE* *Last updated: 2026-11-08*
