Its gold-plated sensor surface detects rain or hail by electrical conductivity, activating a relay to automate awnings or windows. The sensor’s automatic heating prevents frost, while dual LEDs provide clear operational status. Fully waterproof and compact, it’s engineered for reliable outdoor use and easy integration into smart systems. ## Description M152. When the sensor plate comes into contact with rain or muddy snow/hail, it activates a relay. This allows sun awnings or roof windows to be retracted, or simply to report the rain. The automatically heated sensor surface prevents the sensor surface from icing or frosting. 2 built-in LEDs show the function. Waterproof moulded electronics. Please note: The electronics of the rain sensor reacts to the electrical conductivity of the water. Now we have found that there are areas where absolutely undiluted rainwater falls (distilled water). The sensor does not react to it. There must be minimal dirt in the water (dust contents, smoke, etc.) so that the water is electrically conductive and triggers the sensor. In 99% of areas in Germany, the rainwater is conductive.
