Easy install and love all the options
We almost purchased a different fireplace that cost more, but I'm glad we decided to go with this. The heater is not loud and we love all the color options. There are also 3 different types of crystals/rocks to put in the fireplace as well as the log option. We do a combination of the logs and 2 smaller crystals. Installation is very easy once you have a 2x6 support for the fireplace! My husband made an installation video of him putting ours in.

Well worth it.
We just got ours 2 weeks ago and we love it. It was very easy to install going by the directions and specs. You must follow the specs to frame it. We did a rustic looking media center/fireplace. The colors are cool.I added a picture of how we framed it out.

Great fireplace for the price.
I bought a touchstone 50" fireplace before this one and decide this had a better looking flame, especially during the day. This one has nice option as you can change the colors of the flame bed. It does come with the logs and the crystal. Make sure to use both and it will give you a very realistic flame effect. My neighbors and friends are impressed with the fireplace and the mantel that I built for it. A tip on installation is the give an extra half an inch from the top or bottom fitting. That way you can adjust the fireplace if its a little crooked when install.

I bought the PuraFlame Alice, 50” black, recessed, in-wall electric fireplace. It is built to recess 6” in the wall. This is one of the main features that differs from the PuraFlame Serena which is mounted on the wall and can not be recessed due to the design of the air vents. As the 50” model is too long to fit between standard 16” studs, and I didn’t want to mess with removing and resupporting studs, I framed and built out the wall 6” which turned out really nice. Overall, I really love the Alice. It’s air inlets are on the top left and right and the middle air vent blows the hot air. It works with or without the hot air feature if you want warmth or just ambiance. The flames can be orange, blue or a mix of both colors. I do prefer both colors as it give a gas fireplace feel. The front glass pannel is removable to access the decorative glass/crystal pebbles and the decorative logs. The logs are ceramic and can be arranged however you want. The glass/crystals on the bottom can be used instead of or in addition to the logs. There are two sizes of crystals, which are actually plastic. The fireplace features lights at the base of the flame which can be changed to a variety of colors. This add some realism if turned to red or orange as the color reflects on the crystals and logs, giving the appearance of red-hot embers. Also, this looks cool if using the blue light with the blue flame feature. Overall a great value. it ran me $400 on Amazon and another $400 to frame and build out the wall, and purchase and stain the decorative 1x3” wood slats. A Gas insert would have been $5,000.
