The calibration file helps the software/app to compensate for frequencies that aren't linear with the mic and provide a linear response in RTA. This mic is factory calibrated to provide linear response however its not linear after 5KHz. The value is slightly off but its within 1dB response **Q: What is the frequency response?** A: It is limited to the frequency response of the input on your device. The mic itself is full audible range. I know that ipad/iPhone are not full range they roll off around 18k. **Q: I'm planning to use it to capture conversation while shooting hd video on my phone. does it cut out the iphone built-in mic?** A: Yes it does, and it sounds so much better. **Q: works with samsung glaxy 8 ?** A: I'm using the MicW i436 with iPhone 6; mainly to monitor aircraft noise in my area. Works well; obtained values are virtually identical with FAA data. No experience with Samsung. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars It's good, it's designed well and can be calibrated with the right program/App to a device. *by P***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 August 2019* Very good microphone which I was able to check calibration and calibratre to Samsung 10+ mobile phone using free App. You would need to check it's compatible with all mobile device however this simply needs an adaptor you can buy if it does not work first time when plugging into a microphone socket.There exists a 'kit' which includes a short connecting lead which I will need to order something similar to make it easier to fit to phone without removing my protective phone casing each time.
