Review: Good product if you prepare it correctly - First time ever trying kava, didn't have a strainer bag or anything so what I did was put it in the glass with warm water and some milk, I used my spoon to massage and press the pieces against the side of the cup for ten mins. I then used a keurig coffee ground filter and poured through into another glass. I then put all the left over material in the filter then pressed all the water out into my strained cup. Sure it tastes like dirt, but I'm straight flying high over here and reducingy anxiety. It works well if you take the time to prepare correctly.

Went in cautiously, but have been very pleasantly surprised. 2 tbsp prepared in a shaker ball and 300ml of room temperature water per shell. The taste is very mild and tolerable, especially compared to some other cultivars on desertcart. (You know who you are. I love you, but you're disgusting.) The effects are not very stimulating compared to headier cultivars, but there is some. Overall, this is a heavy, relaxing cultivar that delivers great effects at a decent price. I would definitely recommend this in a pinch, or not.

**Q: I have just bought a 1lb bag and thought there might be mixing instructions on the label, Would anyone like to share ratios?**
A: Hi Gavin,  when i mixed the kava waka i prepared it by mixing approximately two and half tablespoons per 8 ounces of water for a stronger brew.  When i first started drinking kava i did not feel results right away, in fact the first night was a failure and due to the awful taste it was hard to go back the following night.  More and more though i felt the effects due to the kavalactones being built up in my system.  I also notice i have much better results on an empty stomach than if i ate dinner first.  Be sure to listen to some chill music and have the lights down low as well. Your eyes will be more sensitive to light which could take away from the experience.  Best of luck - danny

**Q: Is drinking the best way? What about putting it in size 000 capsules?**
A: I use to eat raw spoonfuls, still makes me gag thinking about it. I now use a cheap 100 capsule machine to put it in 00 capsules. I use this brand, and start off with 20 caps. 2 hours later I take 10 more.. and so on for how ever long I want it to last. That's alot to swallow, but far better (as far as taste) than the alternatives. Like, gag me with a spoon dude.

**Q: Can you put this in vaporizer e-juiice and smoke it?**
A: No. Kava is a centuries old ceremonial preparation of the dried and pulverized roots. It is consumed by drinking it. Any attempt to smoke it would prove to be most unpleasant, besides destroying the active kavalatones. Since this particular Kava is finely ground, you can mix with tepid water, not overly warm, and allow the powder to infuse for approximately 30 minutes or so. Then put it into a blender, or I use a hand blender for 30-60 seconds. Pour slowly through a medium meshed strainer, using a spoon to force remaining liquid through the pulp and enjoy! You can strain it twice if the residual powder isn't to your liking, but there are kavalactones in it that can retain more potency. Stirring before each sip will remedy this, and is not harmful. In fact, the fiber is good for you. If you consume alcohol, I'd skip it for at least a day or so. They don't mix well, and nausea could result. I Hope this information is helpful to you. Kava generally speaking is an acquired taste. Pacific Islanders use coconut milk traditionally. However, it's pretty expensive here in the continental US and elsewhere. Increasing numbers of those who migrate and are regular consumers and/or in the business, are typically using water. There are flavored recipes you can look up online. David

**Q: What's the difference between the root one kneades & the instant powder other than ease of use?**
A: The instant powder is ground up so fine that you ingest the root in the water. With the traditional kava, you only drink the liquid and throw out the root after you make the drink. I find the instant kava harder to drink. It tastes worse and it’s thicker. You don’t have to knead the traditional kava if you buy a shaker bottle. Just look up “kava maker.” You can drink traditional kava without all the extra work.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Nice - Do not overdo on dosage/frequency of use

Happy with my purchase. I first bought their lawnena kava and enjoyed it - so I thought I'd try this. I could tell the difference halfway through my first cup - the effect of the waka kava seemed twice as strong as the lawena with the same amount (2 tbsp). I use the Alu Ball to make a cup after work. I fill the shaker halfway with room temp water, fill the ball with 2tbsp kava powder, and shake for 30 seconds. The effects are a perfect medium relaxation - similar to a buzz you would expect from 1-2 beers but with a clear(er) mind. I've also noticed that on kava - my dreams are usually very vivid and not always pleasant. Still - I wake up feeling like I've had a deep sleep. I think kava is my new favorite night cap. UPDATE: warning to everyone - do not overdue on kava. After a few weeks of taking this brand of kava once to twice a day (with the same 2tbs per dose) I developed a rash on my face, arms, torso and upper thighs. My face looked like I had rosacea - and the pain was similar to a bad sunburn, especially on my face. I've been abstaining until the rash goes away fully. 3 days in without taking it and the rash has mostly subsided around my body with still a little redness in my face. The onset of the rash was sudden. After 3 weeks of use with no problems (aside from occasional digestive discomfort shortly after consuming) - i woke up one day with the rash- which got worse as the day progressed. Accompanying it also was dry/bloodshot eyes for the first day. Although this was an unpleasant reaction - I plan on experimenting with less frequent / smaller doses. If i get the rash again - I will never touch this stuff again.
