First attempt, I wasn't even able to push the mic halfway into the sleeve, no matter how much muscle I put into it. Once I managed to get the mic back out, I noticed that the elastics that suspend the sleeve in the metal frame weren't seated in the grooves cut into the inside of the sleeve- they were sitting on "top" of the grooves. By removing the elastics completely and then stretching them tight, I got them to fit into the grooves. The holes in the sleeve were small enough that they kept the elastics stretched tight until I was able to reattach them to the frame. Voila! The mic fits easily into the sleeve now. As for the alignment of the holes to put the screws in, I had the same issues as others but was able to BARELY get them installed without having to enlarge the holes.
