I use a meter to give me the conductivity value of the diluted mixture but if you do not have one and are putting it on with a watering can, try something like 2 spoonfuls in 1.5 - 2.0 gallon can of water and test it on an area where it will not matter if it burns! Then adjust the amount added or subtracted to suit. If you want it to green up your lawn you could spread it thinly on the grass and then irrigate to wash it in. It is best applied out doors in spring and summer. It is a long time since I used it last so I can not remember the ratio to mix, it but if you study a Miracle Grow pack or similar and go with their advice that would be safe **Q: can i use the fertiliser again once opened?** A: Yes you can. It will keep for years providing you tie up the bag after each use and keep it dry. You only need to use an ounce per brassica plant keeping it away from the stalk if using it for vegetables.
