I have now been away for a week of skiing in a range of conditions from piste to powder, sun through to almost whiteout. My skies stayed fast with a good glide for the full week, there is no real deterioration of the wax after one week of skiing. I will review again at the end of the season, but so far so good. One wax coat will last for up to 2 weeks of normal casual skiing. I have never used candle wax though **Q: how is it applied?** A: Hi. It's applies with a ski-iron; press the was onto the iron and let it drip onto the ski. Then use the ski iron to evenly spread the wax over the surface Base. Use an acrylic scraper to remove excess was then use a lint free cloth (I use a sylvette jewellers cloth) to polish the wax. Ensure no wax is on the ski edges, again using the acrylic scraper. I found the wax long lasting and durable. Buy a specialist skills iron and not a domestic iron, as the heat settings are designed not to burn the wax or the skis. Time will tell on the slopes how effective it is and how long it lasts. Just updating after a weeks skiing mixed conditions in April Alps. Perfectly happy, and durable for a good weeks use.
