Pro-Tec Skate-and-Skateboarding-Helmets Protec ace cab Helmet

This helmet has a detachable foam lining that is thinner than the bicycle-specific model from Pro-Tec which makes look much better on the head, but supposedly this type of liner isn't as safe as the hard EPS version.The liner absorbed a lot of sweat before starting to drip, much better than the hard EPS liners.The only problem is the velcro on the liner wasn't perfectly aligned with the velcro on the helmet shell which made the liner stick out a little behind the ears.

This is a great helmet but I have to say I might need the XXL because its a bit snug... Thinking I might try to cut some of the foam out to get it to fit better. It is super light weight and looks great.

Ok. First id like to say the UPS guy was a little sketchy delivering this to me. He knocked on the door, ran to the front of my fence and told me to step out onto the porch before he walked over and handed it to me. With that out of he way everything was packaged good, lots of big bubble wrap ( I also ordered a skate tool with my helmet) . I got the medium fits snug I personally like it that way, I know its not going to slide off in a fall. The pads inside are velcroed on. I assume to be replaced easily if need be. One of my Velcro pieces melted I. The heat of the day so its a wee loose but its fine, wit my head in there its not going to go anywhere. The helmet came with a manual ( not gonna lie...id never thought id see the day a manual was with a helmet) it also came with some stickers ( same as the ones already on the helmet and some random brand name ones) as well as the box it came in of course. The helmet is sturdy, fits snug, and has some fun stickers....so ya, that's my review do with it what you will.

I should have read the reviews and I would have known better than to purchase this helmet. This is only the skate version not the bike version which means it does not do as much to protect your noggin. Other than that I do like the helmet's style and fit. It fits pretty close the fit guidelines so if your head is a little bigger than the size you want I would go with the bigger helmet.

The helmet does the job. The inner lining seems to slip a little when you put it on, so that's why I rated it 3 stars. The simple design and choice of colors is nice.

Hubby here. My head size is 58cm, on Protec's web page their sizing said Large, I'm glad I went with the XL. The helmet was very snug. I like the helmet, looks a lot better than the normal bike helmets you see. The cooling might not be as good as other helmets but they are cool enough for me. Item shipped quickly and in good condition.

The description states this helmet has the SXP lining. However, the helmet shipped has a different two-stage lining that does not meet any safety standards (Warning label right on the box states this). I called Vans (own Protec) and they confirmed that the two-stage lining on this helmet is designed more for comfort than safety. The SXP lining they also offer is designed for safety and meets all certification guidelines listed on their website. THE SELLER NEEDS TO CHANGE THE DESCRIPTION OR SELL THE HELMET THAT MATCHES IT.

This is our 2nd Protec helmet, we the love fit and style and so do the kids. Most bike helmets don't seem to fit them well or they hate wearing them...they wear this helmet for all skating or biking sports and never complain about it.
