To be fair, Alesis has been diligent about quickly implementing fixes for complaints about it. However, IMO playability is still not quite right even with the new spring. Decided to take the leap and try the VH-11 with the Strike module. While I feel I didn't HAVE to (the Strike hat plays acceptably now), I'm very glad I did. It took a little adjusting of the trigger settings in the module, but I think the VH-11 has better sensitivity and easier to control dynamics. Build quality feels higher also. Feel of the sticks on the hi-hat is harder and more like a real metal hi-hat. It is a little louder compared to the Strike though, for those concerned about noise. Overall, a great upgrade. Review: Used won’t last long - Quit working after 1 year. Very expensive. Wish would have last longer than that. Thank you!** A: Comes with - VH-11 (with Clutch already attached)- Hi-Hat Control module- a thin soft base which the Hi-Hat Control module sits on- 2 connection cables (1 to plug into the Hi-Hat Trigger jack and the other to plug into the Hi-Hat Control jack)- some zip ties and velcro ties- Drum Key- Owners Manual **Q: Hi there, is it complatible with basic module td1k?** A: I've seen Roland modules working ok with a great variety of pads, including vh11. The manufacturer does not state it is compatible but my feeling is that it is. **Q: How can I connect this to the Strike Pro module?** A: It will have the same 1/4 inch connections that the strike pro hi hats have. It one for the upper hat, and one for the controller. All you will need to do is readjust the triggers and sensitivity to your liking, as it performs differently to the original. Will buy a new one next time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ great product *by M***T on January 8, 2019* I replaced a cy-5 with this. It feels more like a real high hat. I bought mine used and had always thought it was quieter and not as sensitive as the cy-5. I finally took it apart and found the piezo was just bouncing around in there. now that the piezo is properly fixed to the base.
