Much cleaner than using newspaper and kindling. We already have pellets for our boiler so make sense for us - not sure I’d bother with this if I didn’t already have easy access to pellets. Simple to start. Finding a supply for the lighting gel can be difficult. I buy in bulk when I find it for a good price. Had ours for two years and it hasn’t warped or changed shape. Half the height would be perfect. I am taking a grinder to mine. The issue is the pellets ideally touching the wood/logs. You need a lot of pellets for that and they just are not necessary.
