A: It's definitely not the real thing for that price unless it's used and someone if offloading it very cheap.

A: If you have a kitchen aid then I would say go for that, easier to replace parts etc and it's great value.

A: It is a slicer that shaves thin slices from your chosen vegetable or fruit.  It is different from a mandolin in that it produces a long thin roll instead of thin slices.
