The original setup is janky AF, and never really stayed in place. This one is smaller, and sits inside the hoop of the bass drum. It's kept in place with 3 pieces of cheap foam, that are fragile, but do the job. Had to dock a star because the sticky on the foam doesn't work very well, so you'll want to use a stronger adhesive to attach the foam to the pad. Too difficult to take on and off because you have to remove & adjust your pedal each time. Plus (my fault) I ordered the size of my drum instead of the size of the head (duh!) and missed the return window. So I had to fasten it on with a bungee cord. Oh well. I got this to soften the sound from neighbors.
