Review: A fantastic compromise between dumbed down kids books and real cooking instruction. - My eleven year old daughter loves to cook and enjoys watching foodTV. She is pretty skilled and unfortunately most of the kids cookbooks are really dumbed down (using boxed cake mixes and jars of jam) so they don't really "cook." On the same note a lot of mainstream cookbooks are obviously adult geared. This book is a fantastic compromise of taking real recipes and making them easy for a kid to read and follow. She made these fantastic pork chops the other day with a mustard sauce that I couldn't get enough of. There are some great veggie dishes as well, and as we have learned in our house - you have much better chance of your kid eating veggies if they are part of the creation process. Great book for a budding chef :)

My eleven year old daughter loves to cook and enjoys watching foodTV. She is pretty skilled and unfortunately most of the kids cookbooks are really dumbed down (using boxed cake mixes and jars of jam) so they don't really "cook." On the same note a lot of mainstream cookbooks are obviously adult geared. This book is a fantastic compromise of taking real recipes and making them easy for a kid to read and follow.
