They were school sweethearts who really started their family way too young, which led to too much pressure both made and imagined which led to Darren not communicating and Jodie being left for days and evenings with only their little girls for companionship. He missed the opportunity to discuss and she packed her bags and left.These star crossed lovers still love each other but people aka Lorraine have other ideas. She sank her claws into Darren when he and Jodie split up. Whilst Jodie was crying on her bosses shoulder being told he was a waste of space and she needed to move on......her boss meanwhile was pouring more beer down his neck and offering money for services and labelling it as additional cash for his daughters.When Jodie finds out about the bang gangs her friend Tanya get her to sign up, it is at this point that Darren realises just how much Jodie means to him. He tries to remain aloof from the session but his jealousy gets the better of him. Unbeknown to Jodie it is from this point that he stops his participation in the sessions and hands the diary to Buck to do with as he will. Meanwhile Lorraine is telling Jodie that he is a manwhore who is continuing to sleep with the village ladies. She asks how she can keep her head up knowing he was doing this, when Mia and Ruby their daughters hear rumours he has some 'splaining to do!It all comes to a head when Lorraine realises she will not get her claws into Darren, she invites Tanya and Jodie to a sex toy party but books the Bang Gang. Darren is convinced that Jodie is going for the activities not knowing they are texting with completely different ideas on what is happening.He drives to Lorraine's the night of her party to protect Jodie only to discover that she isn't there and that a full blown orgy is in session and has been for a while. At the point that Lorraine and the other ladies are pulling his jeans down and groping him even though he is saying no Jodie arrives and sees what is happening. Lorraine apologises to her and says this was the only way to show her that Darren is bad news and that by the way they have been having an affair for years!Jodie won't let Darren explain, she is hurt both by him and Lorraine. He tries texting and phoning but she won't pick up. A few weeks have passed and Darren is again in a drunken stupor when Jodie and the girls see him get thrown out of the pub. Buck sees her and tells her what has been happening, that there was no affair, that Lorraine was behind the setting up of the group, that he hasn't participated in anything since their session.Jodie goes to his flat to discuss what has happened, she wants answers as this is more than them now. He even explains about that ring (its rather beautiful what he says).Then we have backbones and an epilogue of epic results. Loved it!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of my favourite books ever! *by L***9 on 20 January 2017* This is the first book I have read by this author and I can honestly say it won't be the last! I was literally hooked from the first page. I can always tell when a book is going to wow me and this was one of them.The story is so much more than just hot, dirty sex, although there is plenty of that! There is such a lot of content to the storyline, and the author has managed to combine the right amount of emotion, angst, passion and laugh out loud humour.Such well developed characters - I loved them all....well, maybe except the villain of the piece who I would have quite happily throat punched! I hope the secondary characters get spin off stories as there is so much potential there.I loved the relationship between Darren and his daughters, especially Ruby who was in a league of her own......the stuff that came out of her mouth had me in hysterics.A fantastic story about second chance love that was so endearing that I felt each emotion the characters went through.I read a lot of books but without a doubt I can say there aren't many I've loved as much as this one. Darren Trent is mine !!! all mine hes so sweet and rough and funny and fml i want to curl up and live in his world , Jodie is the friend next door your average mum facing daily battles we all struggle with and i love her , this story hooked me from the get go and this man stole me yes STOLE my heart from Callum Jackson (Dirty Bad Savage ) gasps i know thats like HUGE for me . but you will understand when you get him, brilliant book i could rant all day about it and most it probably wouldn't make sense so i say this Hopeless romantics you will want to live in this book !bring tissues you're gonna need those big time.Would Darren Trent Be My Book Boyfriend ?
