I'm guessing that the thin-film interference is temperature-dependent. It appears only when the temperature is high (about 25 deg. C) and disappears when it's colder. To put it simply, it's unusable when the ambient temperature is not cold.Edit #1: thin-film interference disappears after a few hours. Just give it some time. However, it's a bit of a fingerprint magnet. But otherwise it's okay overall.Original review:I don't know why this item has a near perfect rating. It is unusable because of the thin-film interference at the underside of the glass, basically it looks like oil on water. ### ⭐ 5 Stars reviews are bought *by E***W on Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2017* Do not trust the most of the 5 Stars review here. This is an absolute fingerprint magnet and this film will not "Stick" to your phone totally. You can easily take it out. While you are installing other protectors, you could see the protector or tempered glass sticking to the phone by pressing in the middle of the screen and slowly you have to press harder or other areas to remove the bubbles. But.......... this protector just doesn't show anything........ you stick onto the phone and you don't even know whether you have done it correctly or not and you could peel it of easily. And it is a Made in China without any brand. Really a scammed item :( ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easiest Install Ever! *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2017* Hands down one of the easiest screen protectors I have ever used. Put these on our two OnePlus5s is less than five minutes. The only thing that will take a while to get use to is that the thickness of these make the fingerprint reader feel a little deeper. This is most as I was use to the very thin and somewhat flimsy screen protector that the phone shipped. Overall a 5/5 product! --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pe/products/49358834-timbay-for-oneplus-5-tempered-glass-screen-protector-scratch-resistant](https://www.desertcart.pe/products/49358834-timbay-for-oneplus-5-tempered-glass-screen-protector-scratch-resistant) --- *Product available on Desertcart Peru* *Store origin: PE* *Last updated: 2026-10-14*
