Two large cut outs on RH side and two smaller cut outs on LH side. **Q: How snugly will this case hold a 9.7 ipad pro without the keyboard? will it be loose if the keyboard is not in the case with the ipad?** A: These cases are custom built for the device, there is no wiggle room what so ever. It effectively fits like a skin. When you say 'the keyboard' - the case makes no allowance for a keyboard of any type and I am unaware of any ipad coming with a standard keyboard. The case is for the ipad on its own. Looks, feels and IS well made. All corners and edges of the iPad are well padded and I'm sure will bounce should I ever drop it.
