VMD Missile Striker Toy Vehicle

Paid $20 for this just prior to christmas for my 7 year old to use against the VMD blue model. Not as happy with this one but for the money it is hard to complain. Toy drives well even over small rocks and off road. Biggest complaint I have is with the missile.Yeah it has it, yeah it shoots. . . sometimes. The large silver round piece on the back is the pump. Directions simply say pump as much as desired without over pumping but no clue as to how many is over pumping. We tried one, does not shoot. We tried 2, didnt shoot. Three seems to be the magic number but even then is does not always launch. The launcher itself tilts up and down which is nice but this feature is not motorized and really locks into either up or down. The toy requires 6 AA batteries and the controller requires a 9volt which we didnt have Christmas day. In the directions it states not to use rechargable batteries. I am assuming because of voltage and the motors which is an issue in a toy that uses 6 AAs. Overall a good toy at less than half retail.

When this arrived I was very surprised at the size and quality. I didn't realize you have to pump it up by had between every shot but have found I actually like that feature as I can control how hard it shoots. I'm hoping once something happens to the only three darts it comes with that I can modify it to shoot elite nerf darts. It is really fast and steers like a Bobcat which is really nice once you get used to it because you can turn on a dime. Darts have a cool whistling sound too.

My son said he wanted 'A tank with a big missile'. I searched for a bit, and found this. Its awesome! The RC controller works quite well, and the remote firing is a very nice touch... The missile flies a surprisingly long ways, but it is foam, and doesn't leave a mark, although it is a bit of a surprise when it hits. The one thing that the little guy doesn't like is that the pump doesn't feel sturdy, and its hard to tell if you've pumped it up enough... there's been quite a few misfires.

Got this for a rather silly low price last year and gave it as a gift to our 8 year old son for Christmas. He ended up playing with it a ton in teh weeks that followed and still plays with it now at almost a year later. I think he has used this toy more often than a lot of the more expensive gifts he got for Christmas that year.I took away one star due to the amount this thing needs to be pumped up in order to fire it any significant distance. My son was a little fustrated by this at first, but seems to have gotten over this as he doesn't complain about this part anymore.

So this toy has a lot of power. It goes over and through anything and shoots the missile super far. I have had an issue where it will randomly not launch. This does not occur very often and that is why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. The other thing is that it sucks batteries down pretty fast. So if you are using it a lot have extra batteries. I bought this on sale for less than 20 dollars and it was the best toy I bought for Christmas and the least expensive.

Each time you want to fire it, you have to pump it up (not the easiest thing for kids). It goes pretty slow and does fire a long ways if you pump it up enough. Kids take it out occasionally and play with it for a few minutes, then it goes away for a long time.

I bought 2 of these for my 2 nephews (husbands nephew got one and my nephew got other). Both kids were so excited. It was great bonding time for the kid and his dad as they played outside on Christmas Day. Plus I got an amazing deal on them as a lightning deal!

Kids love it, very fun creative toy that works quite well, does not shoot for me as far as it apparently has for others but it does easily clear the living room with the uumph!! that inspires fear in the family dog. I like it.
