My baby is officially one year old this month. Just to clarify, this is a review for the Gtx 960 2gb model, as reviews appear for multiple cards under this entry. The 960 is not the performance standard for the 900 series. The 970 is widely regarded as the best balance of price and performance, but when I built my PC I could afford only a 960. I was down about this at the time, but I have to say I was wrong. The NVIDIA benchmark for my card is considerably higher than the average I've found online, so I think MSI have done a very good job with a less powerful card. The long and the short of it is: - The card looks extremely pretty in person. - You will play most games on high/ultra settings and achieve 50-60 fps, but you'll have to play new/especially demanding games on marginally lower settings. - DOOM (2016) looks AMAZING with this card and hits 60fps all day. - You won't break the bank. - At this point (July 2016) you may as well wait for the 980 to drop in price or save for a 1080/1070. Overall, I would recommend this card for anyone starting out with PC gaming on a budget, especially if (like me) you've been away from PC gaming for a while and have some older titles to catch up on. Modern classics like Bioshock Infinite (best game ever, btw) or Rome 2 Total War were beyond my reach for a long time and I have had an amazing year playing through many of them on ultra everything with my trusty 960. I'll save for a 1080 when I want to upgrade from this card (Star Citizen, anyone?), but I'm in no rush because MSI have done an outstanding job with this card.
