I do, however, have other SureFlap products that I am happy with and there seemed to be no alternative for me as I am a Mac user and many of the alternative products needed a Windows PC connection, so I took the risk. This unit fits easily in the hand and it totally intuitive to use once you realise you need to press the centre button to start a read. Without any beeps to frighten the pet being read, the reading is fast and very clear as well as the unit itself being lightweight and relatively small. This makes it particularly suitable for smaller animals whether cats or small dogs. Some of the ring type units are just so big it is difficult to position them near to the animal. It takes 2 AA batteries that are easily slotted into place. The unit also reads temperature sensing chips. Just saying as it might help but understand it might not. **Q: Hi do you need a pc to work this. But rather fragile. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product with some small feature requests from me *by M***L on 28 July 2017* Great scanner, have been using it for a few weeks now and very reliable. I know that the sounds signal is intentionally omitted but would like at least some haptic feedback like a mild vibration when I am scanning big dogs and when I have to scan below the shoulders I cannot see if the scanner has detected the chip. Also I sometimes catch myself forgetting to press the scanning button and if I am not careful I would read the last scanned chip number rather than the chip I just scanned for as the last chip number appears on the screen. I wish the manufacturer would make it more obvious that the displayed number is a historical one rather than the just scanned one.
