This is a starter kit for grass flocking which you can expand with flock applicator, flocking gun and any other container and tool to best suit your mini railroad building hobby. This kit is a result of my own efforts to make a static grass applicator that would solve problems I was having. First, I needed something powerful to make grass stand up. I needed something that I could use to add grass in hard to get places such as gullies, corners and around rocks. And I was tired of having grass flying all over the place and the waste and having to do the vacuuming. So I had a special anion generator made just for static grass applicators. Then I gathered all the necessary parts and put together this kit. To assemble the kit you need two small screwdrivers, wire cutter, drill, a pair of pliers and a small wrench. All you must do is drill some holes, crimp some solderless connectors and connect some wires. There are no electronics involved. You will have to add some extra wire, and a grass container, typically a vegetable or tea strainer. Power the unit from anything that gives 12 V DC. Your powerpack, track, old phone charger, etc. Being a static field generator current output is not important because you will not run current through your grass container. You get two books. One on making static grass applicators in general and the second one with step-by-step guide to making this particular static grass applicator. Works like a charm. **Q: What is the tall / longest static grass that will work with this?** A: You can use any length static grass. It depends on the size of strainer you make. You have to build the applicator using vegetable strainers. There are videos out there to show you how. The larger the strainer holes the longer the static grass you can use. I have made a bunch of different applicators with different size strainers. It is well worth the effort. I enjoy using mine all the time and it is way way cheaper than the others and works just as good. Good luck. **Q: How well does this work when built and when it says sypply your own strainer is that just the strainer for assembly? Or the entire finishe applicator?** A: It works fantastic. Its not hard to build at all. You will need your own strainer. You can get these at a dollar store. Just the small cheap vegetable strainers are fine. You will also need some red and black wire. I used 18 gauge insulated wire. Everything else comes with it including the switch and the ionizer which creates the static electricity. Careful when using it because it will bite you just like all the others. YouTube has a video on how to make strainer for applicators. Look up staticgrassking and follow the vid. I swear by this because it works great and its way cheaper than the wws applicators and all of the others. You may want to get yourself some red and black banana clips also so you can make various size strainer for different size grasses. I wish I could show you pics of some of my work with it.
