The stainless steel insert is removeable making it easy to empty and also to remove when the tea is brewed to your liking so it doesn't keep getting stronger as it sits. If I had a criticism it would be that it is really a pot for one. You can get two small mugs of tea from it but only just. It would be nice if they made a larger version. I love the range of colours (my camping pot matches my trailer tent!! How sad is that!) too. I think they make lovely gifts for a tea drinker.
