The casing provides a 'lip' around the edge of the phone giving it an element of protection but the screen itself is exposed. Sturdy protection around phone. Bumpers protrude slightly forward of screen, unlike most folio cases, protecting from drops onto floor. Folio cover with card slot. BEST FEATURE is the excellent magnetic closure, which is recessed, meaning it doesn't catch on your pocket (only case I know that has this). Only negative is the stupid UAG logo on the front, which i removed immediately - lol.
