This is a well known brand in the industry that is proven to be effective. I tend to refill my combimate about every 9-12 months on average. Given the modest price point, it works out a couple of pence a week over the life span of the balls. Great longevity and value for money. Change the balls completely and throw the old ones into the rubbish bin ''do not wash or reuse, trust me'' clean out the compartment and tray thoroughly with fresh water before you change the Balls and then reassemble the casing. All done. if you have a family home you will use more water, and so should inspect every 6 to 8 months. I have been using these for 9-10 years now without any problems. I hope this helps. **Q: Does anybody know the diameter of the o-ring? I have spare balls but no o-ring and don't want to risk opening it without having a replacement handy.** A: The Diameter is 100mm you get 2 o rings in each bag of balls. you should be ok using the existing o ring, just clean it up and coat it in silicon grease put the o ring inside the body of the unit, the silicon grease will hold it in place be careful not to dislodge it when you slide the dome back in. replace the balls through the stopper in the top of the dome. I suggest you contact the seller. **Q: Does the spanner come in the pack?** A: No it doesn't. This only comes with replacement balls and two rubber rings.
