## Questions & Answers

**Q: is it worth to pay his extra money??**
A: Don't know what you are paying. The 21 jewel version is made in Japan the 17 jewel version elsewhere . Hope this helps .

**Q: i would be willing to pay a little more. is it possible to get this with a us seiko 3 year manufacturer's warranty?**
A: I'm pretty sure seiko discontinue this model. So doubt there will be a manufacturer warranty available. I'd skip the warranty anyways for a watch this price. Service would likely be cheap in the rare chance that you need it. Best to research for yourself for specifics.

**Q: anybody have any problems with this watch**
A: Not for me... mine is still running strong from the day my Dad (who already passed away) bought this watch almost 25 years ago. I only changed the strap to velcro type since the original rubber strap only last me about 3yrs or so. My watch show a little sign of old age and worn out the blue and red color, but appart from that is run as good as new everyday. Very reliable. Been using this for swimming and snorkling not deeper than 20 feet and it's still good. Just remember to tighten the dial before you put it in water.

**Q: The dial and band look black in the picture but the specs say they are both blue. So which is it?**
A: The dial is a dark navy blue and the band is black. 100% positive on that. Great watch too.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great looking, iconic Seiko divers watch
*by O***A on March 18, 2018*

This 200M WR diver is a great watch. This version, SKX009J1 is the dark blue dial (blue/black) with "Pepsi" bezel (blue and red) and "Made in Japan". It is a classic powered by the reliable Japanese movement 7S26.This watch has perfectly aligned minute markers in the dial with those in the bezel. The hour dots and triangle (at noon) perfetly align with the respective minute markers in the dial and the numbers in the bezel. I mention this because in some websites there are complaints about misalignments. I wonder if the misalignments arise more frequently in the NON-japanese versions (i.e. ending K1 or K2) instead of the japanese versions (ending J1 or J2).The watch is more beautiful in person than the marketing pictures show. It is 42 mm wide (not counting the crown). My wrist is about 7.5 inches wide and the watch looks just great (see attached pictures). By the way the crown is screwed down: You have to rotate it anti-clockwise to make it move out one notch; after this, you may pull it once very slightly to move it another notch so you get to the crown level where you can adjust the day in one direction and the date in the other direction. After this is done, you may pull the crown again very slightly to get it into the final level where you can move the hands one direction or the other. Once you are set. You should push down the crown twice and at this level you screw down the crown rotating it clockwise while pressing it against the case.I decided to buy a stainless steel bracelet for this watch so I bought the 22 mm Super Oyster II Bracelet (curved end), which is a very nice, solid looking bracelet, for about $67.49 including shipping from Strapcode (the vendor in Amazon). To take the rubber strap off and to put and adjust the size of the Super Oyster bracelet, you need to watch a Youtube video (don't try without the video as you may mark or scratch the watch). Taking the rubber strap, adjustiing the size of the stainless steel and placing it to the watch requires some skill and having some basic watch tools (it took me longer than other watches). A good time to buy relatively inexpensive watch tools if you don't have them, or else take the watch and the steel bracelet to a watch store and ask them to change the strap and resize it for you.I am very happy with my purchase of this classic Seiko divers watch and with both the seller of the watch (Watchsavings) and the seller of the steel bracelet (Strapcode).

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ couldn't be happier with the watch...great beginner automatic watch
*by C***S on April 11, 2018*

I'm just starting out on the automatic watch collection, so I wanted to start at the lower level of the scale. I did a lot of research and it really appealed to me that Seiko make everything in house. I also wanted to pay the extra premium to get the SKX009J model that is made in Japan. I was a little hesitant because I'd read some horror stories online relating to poor watches being sold with defective bezels and other issues. I'm no expert but when the watch arrived I inspected it very closely and couldn’t see anything wrong with it at all, it seems just as described a new Seiko watch, without any noticeable defects. I set the time and date have been wearing it during the last 4/5 days (during the day) and it’s been running great and I haven’t had to adjust the time at all. Package arrived on time the box it arrived in looked more like a wholesale box, but it has the Seiko label on it and I’m not interested in the box as long as the watch was as described, but if it is important to you to have a better looking box, perhaps they wouldn’t be happy with it (posted a pic).Everything I read about Seiko and the 009 watch is true, it’s a great looking watch, if it continues to operate the way it is at the moment, I think it’s well worth the money I paid ($270). I could have gotten it from other sellers online, but I’m a frequent Amazon buyer and trust them and have faith that if the watch had any issues they would deal with my concerns, as they have done in the past, so again was willing to pay a premium for that service.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful Diver Watch
*by S***L on April 27, 2018*

Fantastic time piece! Looks even better in person than any of the pictures can really illustrate (mine included). It has a premium feel, nice and hefty, yet not overly bulky (I have a 7.25" wrist), and keeps excellent time. I have had no major issues with it losing/gaining time, the +/- 4 sec per day seems to be accurate, as others have commented. Be sure to spend the extra $30-$40 USD to get the J version instead of the K.It will be taking over as my daily driver from my fairly old Bulova. I bought this watch along with the 4 pack of CIVO 22mm Nato straps (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073QGQCNV/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1), all of which look amazing. Nato for the summer and stainless steel / rubber for the rest! Can't go wrong with this thing.P.S. - For those unaware of the language options, the J version has Arabic / English day options, so don't be shocked if it comes out of the box showing Arabic in the day/date window. Just adjust to English following the included instructions.Pros:Has a premium manufacturing feelAccurate time keepingClassic pepsi color schemeNot overly big at 41mm (I've seen others mention 42mm but I measured 41mm, in any case not terribly big)Cons:Rubber band is a little stiff and a tad bit on the bulky side.Box was a bit disheveled when it came.Watch was packed in the box upside down (no scratches luckily)
