## Overview

The Elgato Wave DX is a premium dynamic cardioid microphone engineered for professional-grade speech clarity and room noise rejection. Compatible with any XLR interface without extra boosters, it features a versatile swivel mount and a robust metal design, making it the ideal choice for streamers, podcasters, and content creators seeking broadcast-ready audio out of the box.

## Description

A dynamic cardioid microphone that picks up detail like a condenser, Wave DX captures luscious highs and accurate lows while rejecting room noise. It’s hard to find a mic that can do both. Connect any audio interface, no signal booster necessary. Broadcast-ready right out of the box.

Review: Excellent streaming mic — easy setup and great with Wave XLR - I’ve been using the Wave DX for about two weeks as my main streaming and content mic, and it’s been a solid upgrade. Setup was straightforward: plug it into my Wave XLR, open Wave Link, and I was ready to go. No fussing with drivers or weird gain staging. The mic is responsive and feels durable without being bulky. Noise rejection is good for a dynamic mic — background room noise is much less of an issue than with my old cheaper dynamic. Gain works cleanly through the Wave XLR, and the integration with Wave Link (what people call Wave 3 software) is excellent. I can adjust levels, use filters, and monitor everything without jumping between apps. For streaming, chatting, and general content work, it does exactly what I wanted: clear voice, low hassle, and it plays nicely with the rest of the Elgato gear I already own. I’m not a professional voice actor, just someone who wants reliable audio that doesn’t fight me. This delivers. Would recommend if you’re already in the Wave ecosystem or looking for a simple, solid dynamic XLR mic for streaming.
Review: Elgato KILLED It With This One! - By far this is an AMAZING microphone. Elgato KILLED it with this. Yes, it needs an XLR interface, but you can find affordable options on desertcart (and the Elgato XLR is always an option). Because it’s XLR, the quality is crazy good. Very clear, great levels, manageable range, easy to use with OBS and other software, and a great price. It’s not top-tier Shure or Sennheiser quality, but the sound quality is phenomonal for the price you spend. If you’re using a boom arm, the weight is good, not heavy (though if you use a “cheap” arm, you may have an issue). The mic is also a good size, not big and uses its space very effectively. I’d highly recommend this mic for anyone who wants to record video with audio or stream on Youtube/Twitch.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Mic, Highly Recommend
*by E***N on June 7, 2026*

This microphone has been in weekly service for nearly 3 years now and has performed exceptionally well. When paired with an in-line signal booster, I have all the gain I need and then some. Sounds clear and picks up speech very accurately. The mount is versatile and the looks are also very appealing. Would definitely recommend.
