This Praktica Luxmedia Z212 is perfect for my needs
I’m not a professional photographer, but I have always wanted to take better pictures as a hobby.Up until I bought this Praktica Luxmedia Z212, I have been using my smart phone. My phone has done the job, but there was always something missing.I bought another camera and it was so bad I had to return it to Amazon.I bought this camera along with a 64GB card and a replacement battery (both optional) last week and I am delighted with it. It does everything that it says it should and the results are exactly what I need. This might not suit professionals, but for my needs (photographing local nature and the grand kids) it is perfect.The controls are what I am used to, so I had little trouble familiarising myself with them.The battery and the memory card slipped in with no effort.For me though, it is the 12x zoom that has impressed me the most.I took the first picture shown below from the street, then I zoomed in (from the same spot) to maximum and took the second picture of the shipyard crane, which is just visible in the first picture. I think you will see why I am impressed with this compact camera.Both photographs and videos are in HD and the quality of the images are amazing.I love this camera.

Good general pocket size camera
Bought this for the wife but then realised that the screen was too small for her failing eyesight. However it has since proved to be much better at taking pictures than my smart phone. The most useful feature for me has been the ability to take panoramic pictures and on a recent trip to Alaska these pictures were able to show the complete sweep of Glacier Bay in wide screen and full detail. The camera also has a useful video facility which picks up sound remarkably well.

It was the perfect size for m y pocket - I wanted a camera I could have with me all the time so I could take "snaps " as and when.Alas the battery didnt charge, or didnt hold a charge so I purchased another battery.The second battery didnt hold a charge either, 6 pictures and the camera was saying recharge.So, not fit for purpose and its been returned, still having issues with the refund.

Excellent
A small but beautifully made camera that's easy to use and produces excellent pictures. Once you have established a routine the menus are easy to use it fits easily into the hand.

Battery easy to install
Bought this to replace a Samsung ES73. Very dissapointed with camera. Well built and came with CD instructions, USB lead, and battery. Battery easy to install. The On button is too small and does not sit proud of case. CD kept crashing my Windows XP machine. I powered up battery but depite taking several images the camera would not show them to me, stating that no image was held. Zoom could not be identified depite setting camera back to factory settings. After a fruitless hour of reading the manual and tinkering with the camera, I came to the conclusion that it was not me but the camera that was at fault. Returned to Amazon
